Founder, Code Club
Hi, I'm Sapna Patel, the founder of Code Club at the Otto Bruyns Public Library and a high school student with a passion for technology and education. After coding at my local library since elementary school, I started Code Club to share my love for STEM and make coding accessible to middle and high school students from all backgrounds. Through engaging workshops, hands-on learning, and community events, we strive to inspire creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving in the next generation of innovators. With the help of generous volunteers across Atlantic County, we strive to teach all K - 12 students how to code!
Hands-on sessions on programming, robotics, and web development. Learn to use current day computer chips (Microbits, Ardunio Uno, Jimu) and coding languages (HTML, CSS, Scratch, Javascript, Java, Microsoft MakeCode).
For all students K - 12! All students from all different academic backgrounds welcome. We have connected with over 1,400 individuals monthly through social media and taught over 100 different students through our workshops across New Jersey.
Students from MRHS in Linwood, New Jersey volunteer their time to help teach students.
Members of Key Club, a prominent volunteer organization, come to volunteer for Code Club.
All students from grades K–12 are welcome, regardless of experience level!
If you can bring your own laptop it is appreciated. But if not, we have a limited number of desktops.
It’s completely free — thanks to library grants and community support.
